Where We Are

Our shop is in the Upper Midwest, with easy access for car carriers from the interstate system.

Most of our customers aren't local. They own older Model S and Model X cars that a dealer wanted to replace a pack or drive unit on, and they ship them here to be repaired instead. Cars come from Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Nebraska, the Dakotas, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, Texas, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas, Tennessee, Arizona, California, the Pacific Northwest, and the Northeast. We take cars from anywhere in the continental US.

How Shipping Your Tesla Works

  1. Get a free quote first. Send the form with your model, year, battery size, ZIP code, symptoms, and any Tesla estimate. We'll tell you if it sounds like something worth shipping.
  2. Book a carrier. Any licensed auto transport company can bring the car. Open carriers usually cost less, and enclosed carriers add protection. Prices depend on distance, season, and whether the car runs.
  3. Non-running cars. If the car won't drive or shows an isolation fault, tell the carrier it's inoperable so they send a truck with a winch. Tesla's owner's manual explains transport mode, which lets the car roll when it still has power.
  4. Diagnosis and quote. Once the car arrives at our shop, we diagnose it and send you the findings with a written quote. Nothing gets repaired until you approve it.
  5. Ship it home. After the repair and a test drive, we let you know it's ready and coordinate pickup with your carrier.

Is Shipping Worth It?

For a battery or drive unit problem on an older Model S or X, usually yes. Public pricing puts a 2012–2020 Model S pack at $14,000 to $20,000 at Tesla, while a module-level repair at an independent shop runs about $1,800 to $6,000. Transport is a cost to weigh against that gap, and we'll help you think it through before you book anything. See the price sources.

If your car is still under Tesla's battery and drive unit warranty, take it to Tesla first.

Newer car? Check your Tesla battery and drive unit warranty first. Warranty work should go to Tesla.
